Ministries in the Community
Agape Dental Ministry
In 2013, New Hope Baptist Church and Cornerstone Baptist Church worked together to create a facility and build a ministry that provide free dental care to the underprivilaged residents of the Charlotte area. These free services provided to the community are made possible by the help of numerous voluteers, the generous support received, and the grace of God.
The mission of Agape Dental Ministry is to meet the dental, physical, and spiritual needs of anyone who cannot provide their own care. No one will be excluded because of ethnic origin, religious affiliation, or status in society. The belief of the ministry is that everyone is entitled to have their basic needs met. We totally depend on God, our Heavenly Father, to supply the needs of each person and the ministry. Click on the picture to the left for more information.
Upward Basketball and Cheerleading
Upward Basketball and Cheer is a nation-wide program which uses Sport as a way to reach out to young people and share the Gospel. Combining fundamental skill development and strong Biblical principles, this outreach program serves not only the children of Cornerstone, but our wider community. The December - March season includes eight Saturday games and eleven weekly practices - each week featuring a Biblical principle and verse. Fully staffed with volunteers, Upward provides opportunities for adults to give back as Coaches, Referees, and Game-day assistants. No matter whether your child is a first-time participant or seasoned veteran, the Upward program cannot fail to inspire fun and faith.
Cornerstone Baptist Church is just one part of a broad network of churches (approx. 45,000 spread across the United States) with a common goal of seeing the Great Commission of Jesus Christ fulfilled. The statement “two are better than one” (Eccl. 4:9), is true of the cooperative effort of all these churches. We, in cooperation with these other churches, together we receive an offering to reach the North American continent. We call this offer the “Annie Armstrong Offering for North American Missions.” We schedule to receive it around the Easter Season.
Further, as a part of this larger cooperation of churches, we receive a second special offering. We call this the “Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for Foreign Missions.” With a global population exceeding 6.5 billion and a command to take the gospel to every nation, we must enhance our efforts through the cooperative efforts of the Southern Baptist Convention.
Serving dozens of needy families in our community, the Essentials ministry provides those household and hygiene staples which are often overlooked. You can help support this ministry by either direct donation of needed supplies or monetary support. Stop by the What’s Brewing table for a cup of coffee on Sunday Mornings and learn how you can be a part of this grassroots effort in our community.
